Biography

Professional interests: Luann has been drawn to cardiology since childhood, inspired by her uncle’s work with a research team developing the artificial heart. Her career began in open-heart recovery and has grown to include advanced clinical and leadership training. Luann is especially committed to expanding access to specialty care in rural communities and has spent much of her career bringing cardiology services to patients who might otherwise have to travel long distances for care.

Personal interests: An Oregon native who grew up in Baker City, Luann values the chance to serve communities similar to the one that shaped her. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, backpacking, birdwatching, mushroom foraging, camping, knitting, reading, and traveling. She also loves spending time with her family fishing and boating at Wallowa Lake.
