Grande Ronde Hospital and Clinics is proud to announce that we’ve been awarded a $2.2 million grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) to support the renovation and expansion of our Workforce Development Center at the Regional Medical Clinic.
This investment will help us create a modern, expanded space for healthcare training and patient care right here in Union County.
What this means for our community:
-
More space for training: Over 7,000 square feet of new classrooms and workstations for Certified Medical Assistants and clinic administration staff.
-
Better care access: Increasing our exam room-to-provider ratio will mean shorter wait times and more patients served each year.
-
Strong partnerships: Collaborating with OHSU, Eastern Oregon University, OAHEC, La Grande School District, ICOM, and more to train the next generation of healthcare workers.
-
Community impact: The expansion will allow us to serve an additional 17,000 patient visits annually while creating new local jobs and economic growth.
“The vision for this project began more than two years ago, and while there have been many twists and turns, we are grateful for the support of the EDA and what this investment will mean for our community,” said Jeremy Davis, President & CEO. “By expanding our Workforce Development Center, we can train the next generation of healthcare professionals, support our current staff, and ensure our patients continue to receive high-quality care close to home.”
We’re especially grateful to Dr. Brooke Davis, RMC Medical Director, and the entire RMC team for their support and encouragement during the early phases of this project, which has been critical to making this vision a reality.
As construction moves forward, we’ll continue to share updates on our website and social media. This is an exciting step for our staff, patients, and the future of healthcare in Eastern Oregon.
