Life and Health
Back to Winter 2023-2024The backbone of hospital care
This issue of Life & Health is dedicated to all of our great nurses serving across the GRH health system.
For this issue, we honor all our nurses—but highlight bedside hospital care, the backbone of inpatient care. Our nurses are heroes for all the critical information they handle, process and disseminate; for administering the kindest of care to patients and their families; for reducing burdens and boosting morale for all those they come in contact with; and—most important of all—for preventing disease and illness.
Did you know that Grande Ronde Hospital (GRH) employs 121 nurses, just in our Hospital alone? These include Registered Nurses (RNs) and Residents (our nurse residency program is highlighted in this issue). These 121 nurses are all as unique and individual as the stars in the sky, but they all have one thing in common: a desire to serve and care for other human beings in the most delicate and difficult of situations.
At GRH there are more than 30 specialty areas where nurses with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) can work. Some areas may require an additional, specific certification or a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). Here are just a few we offer:
