Foundation golf scramble brings fun and funds
The Grande Ronde Hospital Foundation held its annual golf scramble on Sept. 10, with 60 golfers in attendance, as well as many volunteers to help with the event. Attendees enjoyed cooler weather while they drove, chipped and putted to compete for prizes and bragging rights!
Winners of the scramble were Clint Williams, Monte Williams, Merle Comfort and George Mendoza, with a gross score of 53. Second-best gross score belonged to Eric Yundt, Chris Yundt, Dorothy Kautz and Dave Comfort. Net score winners were Randy Neely, Paul Harder, Chandler Sherer and Jay Moore, with a net score of 52. Net score runners-up were Ashley Cornford, Gary Cornford, Devin Cornford and Bud Doyle, with a score of 53.25.
Additionally, Tony Haddock walked away with the putting prize of a new patio set, after successfully completing two putts.
Grande Ronde Hospital CEO Jeremy Davis took a moment before play to thank everyone for attending and to talk about the GRH Campus Expansion Project (see article "We Are: Healthier Together").
Foundation Manager Patrick Flynn took a moment to thank all the sponsors and express appreciation for the community: "It is important to have the engagement of the community for projects such as the Campus Expansion Project. Led by sponsors, such as Admiral Beverage/Pepsi and Norco Medical, as well as all of the fun golfers with whom we have developed relationships over the years, their support will help keep Grande Ronde Hospital strong and independent for generations to come."
