Creating positive change
On June 24, the Grande Ronde Hospital Foundation (the Foundation) held the Healthier Together fundraising event at the Union County Fairgrounds to support the Healthier Together Campaign. The event surpassed all expectations by announcing and raising the astonishing sum of more than $243,000!
The fundraising event brought together a diverse and enthusiastic group of philanthropists, community members and corporate sponsors—all dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the people Grande Ronde Hospital (GRH) serves. This tremendous achievement would not have been possible without their unwavering support and generosity.
The event featured various engaging activities, including outdoor games; food from local favorites Merlyn’s Catering and Z’s BBQ; and a live musical performance by The Wasteland Kings. The presentation featured a heartwarming video featuring GRH staff, as well as a former patient and future surgeon who is a beneficiary of our organization’s work. They talked about the importance of the Healthier Together project and the future of health care in Northeast Oregon and provided an update on the construction of the new campus building. Unwavering commitment
However, the true heroes of the evening were the compassionate donors who demonstrated their commitment to creating positive change. Their selfless contributions, whether big or small, profoundly impacted the success of our fundraising efforts. With these funds, the Foundation will be able to expand access to health care and surgical services at GRH, implement new initiatives, and further amplify its impact in Northeast Oregon.
"We are overwhelmed by the incredible response to our fundraising event," said Shannon Houck, Foundation Board Chair. "The generosity and support shown by our community and partners will enable us to make a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve. Every dollar raised brings us closer to our shared vision of big-city medicine with a hometown touch. We are profoundly grateful for our supporters’ trust and belief in us."
The success of this fundraising event highlights the unwavering commitment of the Foundation to the Healthier Together Campaign. By working with our stakeholders and communities, we can achieve remarkable outcomes and create a healthier, better future for all.
