New year, new projects

Foundation kicks off fundraising for 2019 projects

On June 28, the Grande Ronde Hospital Foundation held their kickoff Rooftop Donor Social event for the 2019 fiscal year. Donors and guests enjoyed food and beverages while visiting with Foundation Board Members and hearing about how recent Foundation projects have impacted patient care.

Foundation Chair Glenn Null and Foundation Manager Patrick Flynn gave a presentation sharing the successes of the past year including the story of Kim Hulse, who is now on her path of treatment with a very optimistic future because of an early diagnosis in part due to the 3D mammography machines installed in early 2017 and purchased in part with Foundation funds. If you would like to see Kim's video yourself, go to grh.org/news/releases/kim-hulse-patient-story.

The Foundation also announced new projects for the current year including: an EKG machine for the Elgin Clinic, which uses updated technology to fully synchronize with the clinic's new Electronic Health Record systems, and a SimMan 3G which is a next-generation, high-fidelity training mannequin. This mannequin, combined with a monitoring and system control laptop, can help simulate near limitless patient and emergency situations to help train medical personnel on how to respond to these situations. The Foundation had an operating model of the SimMan 3G at the event, and attendees had the chance to get up close and see how it operates.

The Foundation also announced the dates of their two fundraising events for the upcoming campaign:
Grande Ronde Amateur Golf Tournament, Sept. 7 to 9, 2018, entries are now being accepted.
Foundation Gala, March 2, 2019, tickets go on sale for the general public on Jan. 3, 2019.
