Funding the future

The Grande Ronde Hospital Foundation has wrapped its fundraising campaigns for the 2017 fiscal year, and it was a great success!

The Foundation raises funds each year in order to fund patient-centered projects for equipment or infrastructure. This year’s first piece of equipment was an EKG machine for the Cardiology Clinic. Secondly, the Foundation purchased a replacement Hematology Analyzer for the Regional Medical Clinic Lab. This new analyzer tests blood for abnormalities and has the ability to perform multiple blood cell counts, which is important when testing for immunodeficiencies. These tests are performed quickly and accurately, and they expand the testing capabilities of the RMC Lab.

Lastly, the biggest project of the year for the Foundation was to help fund a new 3D mammography machine to be installed in the Women’s Clinic in the newly remodeled Regional Medical Plaza on Sunset. This unit will operate in conjunction with the other 3D mammo-graphy machine which replaced the older unit in the main hospital building. This will allow for more mammograms to be performed, shorter wait times and multiple location options. The Foundation and Grande Ronde Hospital hope that these changes will help remove any obstacles for people to get their mammograms.

The Foundation is very pleased to be able to help fund such deserving projects, all for the purpose of serving the communities we love, and to offer the best health care possible in Eastern Oregon.
