Pursuing a healthy, happy Union County

Throughout the year, Grande Ronde Hospital (GRH) generously responded to many requests to participate in, support or fund activities that met the stated criteria under our Community Benefit program guidelines.

Our additional collaborative efforts include:

  • Supporting the La Grande Open Streets project—a series of community events promoting a culture of physical activity and social connectedness—in partnership with the Soroptimists of La Grande, the La Grande Main Street Association, Eastern Oregon University and others.
  • Supporting the farmers market focus groups, facilitated by the Northeast Oregon Network, to determine barriers in the use of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) dollars at the farmers market.

These are just some of the many requests in Fiscal Year 2017 that were approved under our program criteria. We are eager to build on these accomplishments and work with our community partners toward our common goal of thriving communities in which we all live, work, raise happy families and reach our healthiest potential.
