Fiscal year 2020 (FY2020) kicked off Grande Ronde Hospital's three-year Community Benefit Plan. We are off to a strong start despite the disruption of a global pandemic. This annual report highlights our many free community activities, classes, donations and collaborative community partnerships.
The FY2020–FY2022 Community Benefit Plan is working to address the following areas of need within our community:
- Social determinants of health
- Behavioral health well-being
These were determined through collaboration with a group of community leaders, partners and stakeholders who came together to conduct our Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), adopted by the Hospital in 2019. The CHNA and other supporting documents surrounding our Community Benefit work are available on our website at grh.org/community-benefit.
Working together
Our CBSC is excited to support our newest community collaborations, like the Eastern Oregon Community Resource Network (EOCRN), an electronic platform that matches needs to resources within Union, Baker and Wallowa counties, and Eastern Oregon University's Health and Human Performance Department's Get Outside-After School Activity Program (GO-ASAP), a program for at-risk middle school students. Look for more innovative community collaborations as years two and three of our plan unfold.
Strength and resiliency
To quote Albert Einstein, "Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile." I am proud to be a part of a community where so many have a personal passion to help those less fortunate to thrive. Now more than ever, connecting community resources is the key to strengthening our resiliency as a whole community. A heartfelt thank-you to our partners for your time and energy.
