Please welcome Laurie Marcum, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, CPPS, as the Executive Director Patient Care Services.

Laurie grew up in La Grande and graduated from La Grande High School. It was during high school that Laurie first worked for GRH as a ward clerk. Life took Laurie and her husband to Portland, where their children were born. They ‘came home’ to eastern Oregon, settling in Baker City to raise their family, which now includes four grandchildren. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Laurie enjoys gardening, travel and “all things outdoors.” Laurie and her husband live on a ranch outside Baker City.

“I am honored to join the GRH team – again! I am passionate about excellence in patient care, outcomes and making a difference,” Laurie said.

Laurie’s history with GRH also includes working as a house supervisor from 2001 to 2008, before she became the CNO for Wallowa Memorial Hospital, Enterprise, where she served for four years. From 2012 through 2016, Laurie was a senior risk management consultant working with hospitals all over the country for Coverys, Boston, MA, one of the largest professional liability carriers in the nation. Since 2016, Laurie has worked for BE Smith, serving at the executive level for many hospitals and health systems across the nation as an interim nursing executive. These experiences make Laurie uniquely aware of the challenges and opportunities during leadership transitions in patient care services.
