Never underestimate the power of positive thinking, says Dr. Robert Quackenbush, an oncologist providing services at a new oncology clinic at Grande Ronde Hospital
The clinic offers chemotherapy and biotherapy to Union, Baker and Wallowa County patients who previously traveled 200 miles or more round-trip to receive cancer treatment
Now, instead of patients traveling, the doctor logs the miles. Quackenbush travels the first and third Tuesday of each month to Grande Ronde Hospital from St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, where he works in their cancer center.

The new clinic began serving patients in August and expects to eventually work with 20 patients per clinic day.
