LA GRANDE, OR – Grande Ronde Hospital and Clinics (GRH) has been recognized as one of only two hospitals in Oregon to achieve Most Wired status in 2020. We are the only hospital in Eastern Oregon to be recognized at this level. This is the fourth year, GRH has earned recognition from the Digital Health Most Wired annual survey.
“The continued distinction of being counted among the Most Wired healthcare facilities in the country illustrates our commitment to leverage technology to improve the health of the patients we are privileged to serve,” said Jeremy Davis, President and Chief Executive Officer, upon hearing the news.
The announcement came last week from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) President and CEO Russell P. Branzell. This is the third year that CHIME has conducted the Most Wired Survey and overseen the program.
“Digital technology has been a driver of innovation in healthcare for many years now, but never to the degree that we saw in 2020 with the pandemic,” said Branzell, adding that the program underscores why healthcare organizations keep pushing themselves lead digital health efforts leaders and underscores the “amazing feats” that can be achieved.
Annually, the Most Wired program conducts a survey to assess how effectively healthcare organizations apply core and advanced technologies into their clinical and business programs to improve health and care in their communities. For the past three years, CHIME has expanded the survey to capture more types of organizations that serve patients across the continuum of care. CHIME also continues to promote the program internationally to provide a global overview of digital health advancements.
“This recognition continues to validate our investment in technologies and strategies that help us analyze the vast amount of data that we collect, in order to achieve meaningful clinical and efficiency outcomes. It also tells us that our commitment to telemedicine that expands access to care and therefore, health equity, is quite in line with delivering care in a safe and customer-friendly environment, ensuring a healthy community,” said Parhez Sattar, Senior Director of Information Services and Chief Information Officer.
A total of 30,135 organizations were represented in the 2020 Most Wired program, compared to the 16,168 that participated in 2019. This year’s efforts included four separate surveys: domestic, ambulatory, long-term care and international. The surveys assessed the adoption, integration and impact of technologies in healthcare organizations at all stages of development, from early development to industry leading.
