Bob Seymour, CPA
Grande Ronde Hospital Board of Trustees confirmed its newest member during the November 16, 2011 Board meeting, welcoming Bob Seymour, CPA.
"We are extremely pleased to have a Bob join the Board," said current Board Chair Lynn Harris, DMD. "Bob not only brings his professional financial skills to the group, but he is a man with deep, common sense roots grown in Northeast Oregon, and from working as a Baker County rancher and local businessman."
New to the Board, Seymour is one of six partners in Guyer & Associates CPAs, an accounting firm with offices in Baker and Union counties. He joined the Baker City main office as a staff accountant in 1999. He achieved his Certified Public Accounting degree in 2001.
In 2007, Guyer & Associates CPA opened a branch office in La Grande. After commuting from their home in Baker County for a year, in 2008 Bob, his wife Livia and their family moved to La Grande. The Seymours have four children.
Although Seymour was raised in Salem, his mother grew up on a ranch in Haines, OR, and Seymour spent much of his youth working on the family ranch under the tutelage of his grandfather. After he graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in accounting, Seymour officially came home to take over Haines operation from his grandfather in 1981, which he operated full-time for 18 years. Livia taught school in Baker City until the couple’s first child was born.
Seymour still enjoys working the family ranch operation whenever time or tax season allow. "Mostly fencing and irrigating," he says with a grin.
The Grande Ronde Hospital Board of Trustees is composed of 11 voting members comprised of nine representatives from the community, the Hospital's Medical Staff President and the Hospital’s President/CEO.
Each Trustee from the community at large is nominated by the Board's Nomination Committee according to Hospital policy and elected by the Board of Trustees. Trustees are elected to serve three-year terms with a maximum of nine years of service. Trustees need not be residents of the State of Oregon or of Union County.
These representatives collectively comprise the governing board of Grande Ronde Hospital, Inc. It is the responsibility of the Board of Trustees to set policy and direction for the organization. The Grande Ronde Hospital Board of Trustees meets monthly, as well as at other times as needed, with the exception of the months of July and August.
