RE: Statement from Patrick Flynn, Grande Ronde Hospital Foundation Manager

In response to recent statewide developments regarding COVID-19, the Grande Ronde Hospital Foundation has made the decision to cancel our annual Gala event scheduled for Saturday, March 14^th.

This decision was not made lightly, but we take our mission to care for our entire community seriously and, as such, believe we are doing the right thing to put the welfare of our attendees, sponsors and staff before all else.

We thank you in advance for your support and understanding. We also want you to know there will be more information to come on future events to support the Foundation’s efforts. In particular, we will begin soon to plan next year’s Gala event and promise it will be worth waiting for!

While we are learning more every day, a clearer picture of COVID-19 and those groups most affected by this disease is emerging, and continue to make decisions based on new information, which remains fluid. We will continue to monitor the guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Oregon Health Authority.

It should be noted that currently there are NO presumptive or confirmed cases in Union County as of today, March 12, 2020.

We encourage you to remain vigilant with precautionary measures against the spread of all respiratory illness by:

• Washing your hands often and appropriately
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
• Avoiding contact with sick people
• Staying home if you're sick
• Covering your mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing

We certainly understand if you would like to request a refund on your tickets, but hope you will consider donating that cost to the Foundation. For more information on how to do either of those, please give me a call at the Foundation office 541-963-1431.
