An Update from the Foundation

It is hard to put into words what all of us are experiencing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Grande Ronde Hospital and Clinics' efforts to serve our patients continues. We are extraordinarily proud of our providers, nurses, and staff who have stepped up to meet the ever-changing demands during this crisis and beyond. While most Americans are told to stay home, our essential teams show up to work every day to ensure our patients receive the care they need and deserve. Our community, our families, our work and our daily lives have been upended. We are certain each one of you has a story to tell or a concern to share.

The GRH Foundation would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to our extraordinary donors. Your generosity leading up to this crisis has allowed us to care for our patients during this time. We would not be as prepared without your ongoing support. Your contributions towards projects over the years have allowed us to stay financially strong, independent, and able to respond to situations such as this. Thank you for your support whenever or however it took place, now, and in the future.

The Fiscal Year 2020 Projects

The Foundation’s latest fundraising efforts for the fiscal year 2020 (ending April 30th). No one could have predicted the unprecedented challenge our nation and world are currently experiencing. Please watch to see just how timely our projects are proving to be:

Project Summary Notes

Additional news about the fundraising projects the Foundation is wrapping up:

Telemedicine - With Telemedicine, physicians can consult with patients without being physically in the room, allowing those in quarantine to stay home, and stay safe. These devices also allow for specialty physicians from around the world to help care for those being treated in our hospital so patients do not need to transfer unnecessarily. We are helping purchase additional telemedicine devices and updating older devices to take advantage of new and emerging technologies.

The Torch - This portable device is an enhanced environment cleaning tool using high-intensity ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) a disinfection method that uses short-wavelength ultraviolet (UV-C) light to kill microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, molds, and spores (including COVID-19). These devices help the Environmental Services team maximize their efficiency by providing an additional level of disinfection to give our patients peace of mind knowing that all of our spaces are as clean as possible and that we constantly work to eliminate the possibility of any kind of infection.

ICU Dialysis - Our newest effort for patients to be able to stay home and receive complete care is the future addition of dialysis services in our Intensive Care Unit. One of the leading causes of transfer from our hospital is for dialysis patients. Adding these services will help reduce costs to our patients, and allow them to be close to family and friends while they receive their care locally.

These are only a few of the many projects funded by our community of donors and supporters over the last 50 years. It shows that through supporters like you, we have hospitals and clinics delivering world-class care locally.

Stay tuned for exciting details about our newly revamped Foundation Golf Tournament scheduled to take place in September 2020.
