On Friday, June 25, 2021, the Grande Ronde Hospital Foundation held the “Eastern Oregon Hot Summer Night” fundraising and outreach event at the La Grande Drive-In. Attendees enjoyed summer refreshments, music from Boise-based band Ripple Effect, and a Brazilian barbecue dinner from local chef Merlyn Baker.
Foundation Board Chair Tayde McAndie and Foundation Manager Patrick Flynn highlighted recent patient care projects as well as patient impact to the crowd of more than one hundred people. McAndie and Flynn talked about the Foundation fundraising for their current projects: Two new Torch mobile UV disinfecting devices, new communication boards for ICU rooms, and a new text-based communication tool for patients to speak with their care teams from any device.
Foundation manager Patrick Flynn was appreciative of the support shown at the event.
“We had a lot of new faces and people had a great time. I am very thankful they have shown their support for the Foundation,” he said.
The Foundation’s next event is the annual golf scramble set for September 11, 2021. Registration will begin soon at www.grh.org/golf. Additionally, in April 2022, the Foundation plans to get back to the regular schedule of its gala, stay tuned for announcements in the fall.
