To friends of the Grande Ronde Hospital Foundation,
As you are likely aware, wildfires in the northwest have greatly impacted outdoor activities all over the state. Our region in Northeast Oregon is now being seriously impacted by wildfire smoke. The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality via the www.airnow.gov website as of September 7, 2017 at 12:00 PM has issued an air quality index of 193 which is considered unhealthy. They recommend staying indoors and not engaging in physical activity outdoors.
It is unclear what changes future weather patterns will bring or whether our local air quality will significantly improve anytime soon.
As a leading health care organization, Grande Ronde Hospital and the Grande Ronde Hospital Foundation take the health of everyone seriously and do not wish to place anyone in danger. We have arranged for the following accommodations for the Grande Ronde Amateur charity golf tournament:
- If you are scheduled to play on Friday, the golf pro can move you to Saturday morning, and will work with you to arrange your new start time.
- The Grande Ronde Hospital Foundation can issue you a full refund upon request if you choose not to golf or attend the dinner and auction.
- If you choose not to golf, but would still like to attend the dinner and auction, the Foundation can issue you a partial refund, less the amount of the dinner ticket price.
Just to be clear, THE GRANDE RONDE AMATEUR IS NOT CANCELLED. We will do our best to accommodate player requests for changes due to the current air quality, but no guarantees can be made. Please contact me at 541-963-1431 or email@example.com with any questions, concerns or changes needed. For more information on wildfire smoke and how it affects your health, click here.
We appreciate your participation, as well as your patience, while we deal with these unique circumstances as responsively and responsibly as we can.
