Description:

This is for a full time, benefited Speech and Language Pathologist in a critical access hospital setting. Position includes evaluation and treatment of various diagnosis with patients across the life span to maximize patient expressive and comprehension of language and communication, feeding and swallow function, cognitive skills and instruct patient and family in home therapeutic strategies. Collaboration with other staff therapists, physicians and patient/family is essential. Typical diagnosis include, neurological conditions such as CVA, Parkinson's, MS, TBI, dysphagia, autism, developmental delay, and food aversion. Service areas include outpatient, inpatient and rarely HH. Rotational weekend on-call swallow eval coverage from 8 am to 5 pm for the inpatient caseload only required approximately once every 6-7 weeks and is shared with other SLP’s of the organization. Typical caseload is 30% adult, 70% pediatric with majority of the care in the OP setting.
