Description:

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare, business or related field preferred. AHIMA and/or AAPC Coding Certification required. RHIA or RHIT certification preferred, consideration will be given to candidates eligible for either program and willing to enroll. Five years’ experience with Coding, Health Information Management and/or, Patient Financial Services accounts receivable management. Two years progressive healthcare leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Familiarity with regulatory changes that impact documentation, coding and billing practices. Expertise in clinical operations, coding and billing office workflows. Thorough understanding of the relationship between codes and revenue in the reimbursement process, specifically how revenue is generated from ICD-10CM, ICD-10PCS, CPT and HCPCS codes. Must be detail-oriented, with proven ability to effectively manage time, see tasks and projects through to completion, organize competing priorities and effectively address complex, urgent issues as they arise. Working knowledge of JCAHO standards, CMS Conditions of Participation and federal and state regulations pertaining to health information. Knowledge of MS Office, electronic health information systems and ability to work in fast-paced, multi-customer environment.

Requirements: Must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, lead change and projects in the organization, demonstrate strong personal integrity, work independently and have flexibility. Must have solid organizational, planning and budgetary skills. Must work with and respect highly confidential information and have a broad knowledge of MS Office and electronic health information systems. Able to lift 50 lbs. maximum, with some lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time, and work calmly and effectively in urgent and emergent situations.
