Heathy New Year!!

Did you know that under the Affordable Care Act, many health plans are required to cover certain preventive care services at no cost to you?

That's right. You may be eligible for free preventive screenings, like blood pressure and cholesterol tests, mammograms, colonoscopies, and more. This includes coverage for vaccines and new preventive services for women.

Does this apply to my plan?

It depends. Many plans do provide for these benefits. In some cases, these rights don't apply to what are known as "grandfathered" plans. Find out by checking your plan's materials, or ask your employer or benefits administrator if your health plan is grandfathered.

How can I learn more about what preventive benefits are available?

For a more detailed list, read more in our Health Library story "Preventive care that's easy on the wallet", or by searching www.healthcare.gov for preventive care.
