Your Meals

Wholesome, nourishing and well-balanced meals are an important part of your treatment and recovery. The dietitian and dietary staff at Grande Ronde Hospital make every effort to provide nutritious meals that are prepared according to your doctor's orders.

Meal Service Hours

Breakfast: 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Dinner: 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Occasionally your meal may be delayed if you are scheduled for a special test or treatment. Whenever possible, you will be served after your test or examination.

Your breakfast tray will include a menu from which you may order your meals for the next day. Please mark your menu so it will be ready for pickup. If you have difficulty making menu selections, ask your nurse for assistance. If you are on a special diet prescribed by your doctor, you will receive menus that are specific to your needs. Please do not accept gifts of food from friends and family members unless they have been cleared with your nurse or doctor. You may also be asked if you would like a snack during the day, and you will be given a selection to choose from that is both nutritious and within the boundaries of the diet prescribed for you by your physician. If you are hungry during the day, simply tell your nurse and he or she will take care of ordering something for you.

Gourmet Meals

Gourmet meals may be ordered from the dietary staff. The cost of a meal is $11.50, and the dietary clerk can give you selections from which to choose. These meals may be purchased as a gift for a patient by a friend or member of the family, or by the patient if so desired. All gourmet meals are served on china, with silver service and a special table cloth. Multiple meals may be ordered if you wish to dine with a guest. Before ordering the meal, please clear it with your physician or nurse, in case there are any dietary restrictions.

Guest Meals

Family members or friends are permitted to dine with you in your room if you so desire. Guests may bring in their own meals or they may purchase meals from the dining room and bring them to your room. They may order a special "guest" tray to be delivered to your room along with your meal, or they may purchase a gourmet meal for themselves. To order a gourmet meal or a guest meal, either notify your nurse or the dietary staff directly at ext. 1439.
